LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., February 10, 2003 - Jay Howell
joins Cooper Wiring Devices as Vice President Manufacturing/Operations,
responsible for directing and coordinating all manufacturing
and supply chain activities of the organization, it has
been announced by Parag Mehta, Executive Vice President
of the major producer of more than 10,000 electrical wiring
device products.
In his new position, Howell will focus on the company's
servicing its customers with optimum efficiency and quality
while maximizing manufacturing strengths.
"With his excellent operational experience and strong
leadership, Jay Howell is well positioned to help Cooper
Wiring Devices achieve world class operational excellence,"
said Mr. Mehta.
Previously Howell was Plant Manager for Cooper Bussmann's
Black Mountain, North Carolina facility. Prior to that,
he was Operations Manager of Cooper Bussmann's Chicago
facility and Plant Manager of Cooper Bussmann's Juarez,
Mexico operation where he served for five years. Howell
joined Cooper Bussmann in 1986 as Quality Assurance Supervisor
at Goldsboro, North Carolina, and was later promoted to
Production Superintendent.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Howell holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration.
