Cooper Wiring Devices Introduces Decorative Solid Brass Wallplates

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., March 1, 2001 - Cooper Wiring Devices (CWD) has introduced a line of corrosion-resistant, specification-grade solid brass wallplates that provides a timeless, upscale look for any room.

Available in 11 different NEMA standard-size configurations, these solid brass wallplates can be used to cover light switches and outlets to provide a coordinated look with other fixtures and accessories in a room.

"Providing high-quality products that stand the test of time is CWD's goal," says CWD product manager Chris Reilly. "We designed our solid brass wallplates with both the electrician and consumer in mind. They are easy to install and will provide many years of maintenance-free, refined accent to any room."

Composed of a 70/30 alloy that provides excellent strength and corrosion-resistance, and meeting all UL514 requirements, the brass wallplates are available in easy-to-clean polished and satin finishes. The satin finish gives an elegant low-luster appearance while protecting against finger marks. The polished brass finish provides a stylish mirror accent. All are clear lacquer coated to prevent oxidation that can tarnish and destroy the plate, keeping it looking as if it were just installed.

Cooper Wiring Devices' brass wallplates are supplied with matching brass-plated steel screws, which won't bend or deform like solid brass screws due to the strength and durability the steel base provides. To prevent scratches and damage to the brass during handling and installation, each plate is covered with a removable PVC coating. Once installed, the protective plastic can be taken off and the luxurious shine and texture of the brass will show.
